Tor Yttredal is a prominent musician in Stavanger’s musical milieu, and in the spring of 2018, Maijazz challenged him to create a project for Maijazz 2019 featuring his own name.
As a musician, he has worked with many different genres and groups within the spectrum of jazz and jazz-related music. Tor Yttredal has also performed with many great musicians both from home and abroad, all of whom have helped to shape him as a musician and as a teacher.
The time has now come for the project named after himself. And what a dream team he has put together – Audun Kleive, Ole Morten Vågan and Ståle Storløkken!
So, what can we expect from Tor Yttredal and his eminent quartet?
Coming from such an experienced ensemble and from a quartet with a tremendous capacity for improvisation, Tor promises his audience a musical experience which is free and harmonious, melodic and rhythmic, hard yet soft, and fast yet slow.
