Omega Collective is an ensemble of 19 students specializing in Jazz Studies in Stavanger. The ensemble is led by Composer and Trumpet Player Ole Martin Rosvold Haugen.
Their compositions are a mix of elements from various musical genres, and the Composer has found inspiration in Ibrahim Maalouf, Trondheim Jazz Orchestra and Marius Neset, amongst others. Exploratory ideas coupled with playfulness create a unique soundtrack for this talented band. With groove-based riff, modal arrangements, floating melodies and complex, rhythmic figures brought to life on the flute, they create their very own playroom, where everything is allowed!
The band has been chosen to perform a concert and record an album in association with CEMPE (Centre for Excellence in Music Performance Education) at the Norwegian Academy of Music and is set to release its debut album this summer!
