Nick Mazzarella (known from Nick Mazzarella Trio, and Meridian Trio), Ingebrigt Håker Flaten (from Atomic, and The Thing), and Avreeayl Ra (from Sun Ra Arkestra, and AACM), joined forces as a trio for the first time in 2014. They knew each other from Chicago´s improvisational milieu. From their very first meeting the three musicians felt a mutual deep, creative connection, and the music which they went on to improvise together was laid-back and powerful. Their first concert was documented and released in 2015. Out of what began as a one-off experimental gig, a permanent collaboration was born. This mighty, close-knit trio is embarking upon its first ever European tour this Spring, making their Norwegian festival debut at our very own Maijazz 2023!
