Many of the greatest jazz pianists have done some of their finest work on a small scale: Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett and Brad Mehldau have all had legendary trios, and now one of Norway’s most prominent pianists in recent years has one too! Eyolf Dale has taken the rhythm section from the Wolf Valley band and formed a trio of the highest order.
Drummer Audun Kleive is nothing short of legendary in Norwegian jazz history. With almost two hundred releases to his name, countless tours at home and abroad, and with a phenomenal capacity for improvised ensembles, he has truly made his mark as a source of inspiration for several generations of young musicians. Bass player Per Zanussi has distinguished himself since the nineties as a highly original, curious musician and composer, and is widely known for his bands and orchestras.
