When two of Norway’s most distinctive and innovative jazz musicians come together, a musical space is created where sound, depth and spontaneity take the lead. Trumpeter and composer Nils Petter Molvær has been one of the most influential figures in modern jazz for decades. With his characteristic trumpet sound and pioneering use of electronics, he has helped to redefine the possibilities of jazz and paved the way for a more ambient, cinematic and genre-transcending expression.

Daniel Herskedal, on the other hand, has renewed the role of the tuba in contemporary jazz. With a rare combination of virtuoso technique, melodic sensitivity and aesthetic innovation, he creates musical landscapes that are deep, airy and unique all at once. Herskedal draws natural impulses from classical and folk music and from modern jazz in equal part, and is known for shaping complex, almost cinematic sound worlds.

When Molvær and Herskedal come together, two forceful artistic voices from two generations are united – each with their own world of sound, but with a common gaze towards the boundless and exploratory. The interplay between Molvær’s atmospheric trumpet and electronic textures and Herskedal’s powerful yet lyrical tuba creates a space that feels both intimate and magnificent. The music balances between improvisation and composition, between the atmospheric and the down-to-earth, between tradition and the future.

The result is an expression that is cinematic, emotional and deeply original – a musical dialogue that gives way to new horizons and invites the audience into a landscape where sound can breathe, grow and surprise.
