Saturday, May 10th. at 3 PM in Elefantteateret. It’s May! It’s jazz! It’s music, joy - and everyone is invited! Family performance - from 4 years (but all are welcome)

Woohoo! Elefantteateret are joining in the fun at Maijazz with fantastic experiences for the little ones.

Ole Jørn Myklebust (on trumpet) and Morten Barrikmo (on clarinets) are two of the most outstanding improvisational musicians on the Norwegian music scene. Ole Jørn is best known for his long-term collaborations with Mari Boine, Ingrid Olava, Jonas Fjeld, and Unni Wilhelmsen, as well as for his solo albums and projects, such as the Norwegian contemporary musical ensemble named asamisimasa, Susanna, Oslo Sinfonietta, Cikada, and BIT20 Ensemble. He has contributed to a vast number of different records and theatre productions – from Satyricon, via Per Zanussi to Frida Aannevik.

At Elefantteateret, the two friends are joining forces through the KLANGBEIN project – a show that has been performed over 2,000 times in six different countries – to the great delight of both young and old audiences.

The show is about the friendship between two good friends, played by musicians Ole Jørn Myklebust (on trumpet) and Morten Barrikmo (on clarinets). Through the mediums of music, mimicry, and humor, they guide the children on an emotional journey exploring the minor and major challenges of everyday life. How do they resolve misunderstandings? What do they do when the mood gets difficult? And can friendship prevail in the end? The show focuses on important themes such as communication, empathy, and how music can express and amplify emotions. The musicians deliver playful improvisation and a closeness to the audience that makes each concert unique, where the children get to laugh, feel, and even conduct the music themselves!
