80 years have passed since Pippi Longstocking first won our hearts – and the occasion is set to be celebrated with music filled with charm, swing and a childlike earnestness. Together with some of Sweden’s foremost jazz musicians, Sarah Riedel brings new life to beloved melodies from Astrid Lindgren’s stories – all written by her father, the legendary Georg Riedel. The performance has previously enjoyed tremendous success with sold-out concerts, including at Umeå Jazz Festival, Stockholm Jazz Festival and Fasching in Stockholm.
Here, we meet Karlsson on the roof, Emil, the Children of Noisy Village and – of course – Pippi. This is jazz with room for improvisation, laughter and conversation, where children can participate on their own terms. Look forward to a warm, musical experience for the whole family – not to be missed when the fairytale music really starts to swing. All performed in new, playful and finely tuned versions with room for improvisation and dialogue with the audience. This is one for the children – in the perfect children´s format, obviously!
