The Amund Stenøien European Quartet features a fresh group of young European jazz musicians. In addition to the Norwegian vibraphonist Amund Stenøien, the quartet consists of Kertu Aer (EST), Leonardo Badiali (IT) and Jesse Schilderink (NED). The repertoire is a mix of Stenøien’s original songs and arrangements of standard songs.
Amund Stenøien (NO) (b. 2000) is a vibraphonist and composer, and in recent years has steadily established a name for himself on the Norwegian jazz scene. Hailed as “one of the country’s most promising musicians” by the Norwegian press, he has created an exciting sound through the mediums of vibraphone and effect pedals. Since 2020, he has fronted numerous exciting projects and collaborated with major international jazz names such as Lage Lund and Michael Attias.
The Amund Stenøien European Quartet draws inspiration from quartet greats such as Stan Getz and Gary Burton, Joe Henderson and Bobby Hutcherson, with a modern twist.
This concert is organized in collaboration with JazzArkivet.
