Although there were a lot of movies and actors in Kyle Eastwood’s upbringing, the home was also filled with Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Miles Davis. Maybe that’s why the choice fell on music and jazz in particular. Bass became the preferred instrument, and since then Kyle Eastwood has developed into a virtuoso musician and a very talented composer.
In his latest project “Cinematic”, his two great passions merge – film and music. Kyle Eastwood has taken film music into his jazz world, and the result contains a lot of music from famous films. Here the audience gets to make new acquaintances with music from classics such as Bullitt, Taxi Driver and Pink Panther. Kyle Eastwood also interprets some of his favorite composers such as Ennio Morricone, Lalo Schifrin and Henry Mancini. We also hear Kyle’s version of the music of Gran Torino that he wrote with his father Clint Eastwood.
In 2012, Kyle Eastwood was doing the closing concert at Maijazz. It was a cold and rainy night outside, but inside crowded Stavangeren the atmosphere was high with warm music. We look forward to hearing from Kyle Eastwood and his band again.
