When Espen Eriksen Trio embarked on their first full scale UK tour in May 2016, saxophonist Andy Sheppard joined the Trio for two concerts in London. From the first notes it was clear that this was a perfect match. The interplay was seamless and it was as if the melodies of pianist Espen Eriksen were specially written for Andy Sheppard.
A new collaboration was born and since then Espen Eriksen Trio and Andy Sheppard have toured together in Norway and South Korea. In October 2017 they recorded their first album together. The record “Perfectly Unhappy” was released on the Norwegian label Rune Grammofon in May 2018, featuring eight new songs by Eriksen, this time specially written for the project.
This new collaboration between Espen Eriksen Trio and Andy Sheppard will delight fans and without doubt attract many new ones.
